COURSE SYLLABUS: Leadership in a World Transformed by Technology

 As part of the MA in Global Leadership (SIU), I am excited to introduce the course Leadership in a World Transformed by Technology. This course is designed to help students understand how emerging technologies impact leadership and how to navigate the challenges of digital transformation in a rapidly evolving world.

Course Overview

With the rise of artificial intelligence (AI), automation, and digital transformation, leaders must adapt to new paradigms of leadership. This course examines how technology influences leadership practices and decision-making, preparing students to lead innovation and manage change in global organizations.

Class Schedule: Every Friday, March 7 – June 20 (15 weeks)

Key Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, students will be able to:

  • Understand the impact of digital transformation on leadership and decision-making.
  • Develop strategies for leading innovation in technology-driven organizations.
  • Analyze ethical challenges related to artificial intelligence, automation, and mass connectivity.
  • Strengthen leadership skills to manage change effectively in the digital age.

Course Requirements and Assignments

Students will participate in group discussions, presentations, and a research-based term paper (15 pages) following the Turabian Notes-Bibliography style. Attendance and engagement are essential for success in this course.

Grading Criteria

  • Attendance: 20%
  • Mid-Term Exam: 20%
  • Final Exam: 20%
  • Presentations & Assignments: 40%
